Different Types of Roof Shingles for your Home
Asphalt roof shingles come in two main types: the 3-Tab Shingles and the Architectural Shingles. Three-Tab roof shingles are single-ply shingles and are the most economical asphalt shingles. They also do not come with the Nailed It Roofing 10-year labour warranty.
Architectural roof shingles provide the best protection against the elements for sloped roofs. They are also faster to install so the total price for roof replacements are comparable to 3-Tab shingles when labour is factored in.
Not all architectural shingles are the same either. Some manufacturers will put one adhesive line in the front and one in the back of the roof shingle, while others will have 3 or 4 adhesive strips to ensure a better seal and prevent water from entering your roof deck.
