Different Types of Roof Shingles for your Home

Asphalt roof shingles generally fall into two primary categories: the 3-Tab Shingles and the Architectural (Dimensional) Shingles, with several upgraded and designer options available within each system.

3-Tab shingles are a traditional single-layer product and the most economical option. They provide a flat appearance but offer lower wind resistance and a shorter lifespan. These shingles do not include the Nailed It Roofing 10-year labour warranty.

Architectural shingles are today’s industry standard. They are multi-layered, more durable, and offer improved wind resistance along with a more dimensional appearance. When installing architectural systems, we design a complete roofing system — including proper underlayment, ventilation, and accessory components — to enhance performance, extend lifespan, and qualify for the strongest manufacturer warranties available.
